FontPilot

Batch-install a whole folder of fonts on Windows or Mac, and discover new ones from Google Fonts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install a folder of fonts?

Open FontPilot, click Choose Folder (or just drag a folder onto the window), and it will scan every font file inside — including subfolders. Check the ones you want (or leave them all checked), then click Install. You'll see a live progress bar until it's done.

Do I need to run FontPilot as administrator?

No. FontPilot installs fonts for your user account only — on Windows, the same way Windows does when you right-click a font and choose "Install" (no UAC prompt); on Mac, by copying into your personal Fonts folder (no admin password prompt). The trade-off is that fonts installed this way only show up for the account that installed them, not other accounts on a shared computer.

A few fonts show as "failed" after a big install — why?

On very large batches, a handful of files occasionally fail for reasons specific to that file (a corrupted download, an unusual internal format, etc.) — it's not a sign something is wrong with the rest of the batch. Check the Show only failed box after an install to see just the ones that didn't make it, along with the specific reason for each. Everything else in the batch installs normally.

What font file types does FontPilot support?

FontPilot installs .ttf, .otf, and .ttc files. .woff and .woff2 files are skipped with an explanation, since those are web fonts and can't be installed as desktop fonts.

How does "Find Fonts Online" work?

Switch to the Find Fonts Online tab and search Google Fonts' full catalog. Fonts you already have installed are hidden by default so you only see what's new. Pick the ones you want and click download — FontPilot fetches the files and installs them in one step, skipping anything you already have.

Do I need a license key or activation code?

No. After purchase, just download and run the installer — there's no activation step or key to enter. If you need to reinstall or move to a new PC, use the download link from your purchase confirmation email.

Is there a Mac version?

Yes — FontPilot runs on both Windows 10/11 and macOS. Your purchase confirmation email includes a download link with buttons for both, and it's the same one-time license either way. It's a universal Mac build, so it runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
