What Is NexusView?

NexusView is a desktop app for Windows and Mac that shows all of your security and home cameras together on a single live wall — on your monitor, a spare screen, or a TV. It works with almost any brand, so you stop hopping between a different phone app, website, or program for every camera you own.

Most camera brands only want you to use their own app, and none of them will show you someone else's cameras. If you own cameras from more than one company, that means three or four apps, three or four logins, and no single place to look. NexusView fixes that. Add each camera once, and they all appear together in an automatic grid that fills your screen. Tap any tile to blow it up to full screen, tap again to go back.

It is built for the way people actually use cameras: a wall display running all day on a TV in the kitchen or shop, a second monitor you glance at while you work, or a quick check-in on everything at once. NexusView can keep the screen awake, start with your computer, hide its controls when you walk away, and reconnect a camera by itself if the network blips.

Your video goes straight from your camera to your screen (and, if you choose, to your own hard drive). There is no NexusView account, no cloud relay and no subscription. We never see your cameras or your video. (The optional AI feature sends motion snapshots straight from your computer to the AI company you choose, never through us.)

How It Works

1

Find your cameras

One click scans your home or office network and lists the cameras it finds. Pick the ones you want and enter the camera's username and password.

2

Or add by brand

Choose your brand (Reolink, Amcrest, Hikvision, Tapo, Wyze and more) and NexusView fills in the right stream address for you. Or paste your own stream URL.

3

Add your cloud cameras

Arlo, Ring, Google Nest, Blink, Wyze, Eufy and SimpliSafe show up in a signed-in pane right on the wall, beside your other cameras.

4

Watch

Your wall arranges itself. Go full screen, pin it above other windows, or send it to a second monitor or TV and leave it running.

What You Get

One Wall, Any Brand

Mix Reolink, Amcrest/Dahua, Hikvision/Annke/Lorex, TP-Link Tapo, Axis, Foscam, UniFi Protect, Wyze and Eufy (RTSP) cameras with any ONVIF camera or custom stream, all on the same screen.

Cloud Cameras Too

Cameras that have no direct stream, like Arlo, Ring, Google Nest, Blink, Wyze, Eufy and SimpliSafe, appear in a persistent signed-in viewer pane alongside your direct cameras.

Automatic Camera Discovery

Scan your network with one click. NexusView finds ONVIF cameras and builds the stream addresses for you, so there is nothing to look up.

Full-Screen Focus

The grid auto-fits to your screen and your camera count. Click any camera to fill the display, click again to return. Choose fit-whole-picture or fill, and show or hide camera names.

Made for Wall Displays

Full-screen kiosk mode, keep-on-top, pick which monitor it uses, prevent the display from sleeping, and start automatically when you sign in. The toolbar and cursor hide themselves after a few seconds.

Record to Your Hard Drive

Save every camera — including Arlo, Ring and other cloud brands — as video files in a folder you choose, with automatic clean-up by age or size. No subscription and no cloud storage fees. NexusView asks where to save before it records anything.

Tunes Itself to Your Computer

NexusView checks your processor and memory and recommends a Basic, Standard or High performance level, so older computers stay smooth and fast computers get sharper live view and recording. One click optimizes all your cameras, and a built-in internet speed test tells you how many cloud camera tiles (Arlo, Ring and others) your connection can handle.

Fast, Low-Delay Video

Streams play through a local, low-latency pipeline straight from your cameras, and a stalled camera reconnects on its own with its status shown on the tile.

AI That Knows What It Sees

Turn on AI and each motion event gets a snapshot sent to the AI company you choose, using your own account key. It tells you whether it is a person, vehicle, animal or package, so you are alerted only for what matters. Pick Claude (our suggestion), ChatGPT, Gemini, or a model running on your own computer, and change it any time. Then just ask: “Did anyone come to the door today?”

Motion Alerts and Phone Notifications

NexusView watches your direct cameras for movement and shows a desktop alert, sends a phone notification with a snapshot through the free ntfy app, and can call a webhook for Home Assistant, Zapier or IFTTT. Draw ignore zones so a tree or a busy street never sets it off, and get told when a camera goes offline.

Playback, Clips and Timelapse

Scrub a 24-hour timeline for each camera, jump straight to every motion event, save a 30-second clip to share, or turn a whole day into a short timelapse. Record only when something moves to save disk space.

Phone and Tablet Viewer

Open a code-protected page on any phone or tablet on your Wi-Fi to see your direct cameras live. Away from home, pair it with a free private network such as Tailscale. No port forwarding and no monthly fee.

Scenes and Guard Tour

Save sets of cameras such as “Front of house” or “Garage” and switch between them in one click, or let the guard tour rotate through them on a wall display.

Pan, Tilt, Zoom and Talk

Move PTZ cameras that support ONVIF right from the tile. On Arlo and Ring, the microphone is enabled inside their tiles so you can use their own Talk button.

Private by Design

No account, no cloud relay, no analytics. Your camera passwords stay on your computer, and your video never passes through our servers. If you turn on the optional AI, one snapshot per motion event goes only to the AI company you pick, using your own key.

Easy Updates

Press Check for updates in Settings to see if a new version is available. Updates only download when you choose.

Why NexusView?

NexusView is the simplest way to see all your cameras at once, and now it also records, alerts you, and understands what it sees. It is not trying to be a full enterprise surveillance server.

Competitor details come from each company's public website and independent reviews, checked October 2026. Features and prices change, so please confirm on their sites. NexusView is a viewer and recorder, not a full surveillance server; it does not replace advanced features such as facial or plate recognition.

Good to know: Direct cameras (Reolink, Amcrest, Hikvision, Tapo and any RTSP/ONVIF camera) are recorded straight from the camera's stream at original quality. Cloud cameras such as Arlo, Ring, Google Nest, Blink, Wyze, Eufy and SimpliSafe don't allow outside apps to access their video, so NexusView records what their tile shows on screen instead (up to 1080p at 10 frames per second on a fast computer) — and only while that tile is showing. NexusView does not detect motion or send alerts.

What You Need

  • A Windows 10/11 (64-bit) PC or a Mac (Apple Silicon or Intel).
  • Cameras on the same network that support RTSP or ONVIF — most do — or a supported cloud camera account.
  • An internet connection to activate your license (and for cloud cameras). Direct cameras keep working during short internet outages once activated.
  • Some brands need RTSP switched on in their own app first (Reolink, Tapo, Eufy, Wyze and UniFi Protect). NexusView shows the exact steps as you add each brand.

Questions

Which cameras does it work with?

Any camera that offers a standard RTSP, RTSPS, HLS or HTTP video stream, or supports ONVIF. That covers most Reolink, Amcrest, Dahua, Hikvision, Annke, Lorex, TP-Link Tapo, Axis, Foscam, UniFi Protect, and RTSP-enabled Wyze and Eufy cameras. Cloud-only cameras such as Arlo, Ring, Google Nest, Blink and SimpliSafe are supported through a signed-in viewer pane instead.

Do my cameras need to be on my local network?

Direct (RTSP/ONVIF) cameras are viewed over your network, so the computer running NexusView should be on the same network as them. Cloud cameras work from anywhere with internet because they use the brand's own web viewer.

Does it record video?

Yes, for every camera brand. Turn on Record, choose a folder on your hard drive, and NexusView saves each camera to its own folder in 10-minute video files. Direct cameras (RTSP/ONVIF) are saved straight from the stream with no re-encoding, so it barely uses your processor and keeps the camera's original quality. Cloud cameras like Arlo and Ring don't give other apps access to their video, so NexusView records the live picture shown in their tile instead; that is a screen recording, so quality depends on your computer, and it only records while the tile is showing. You choose how many days to keep and a maximum size; the oldest recordings are removed automatically, and recording pauses if the drive is nearly full. NexusView does not detect motion or send alerts.

Is my video sent to you?

Never. Video goes directly from your camera to your computer. The app only contacts our license server to activate and re-check your license, and for an update check when you ask for one. See the Privacy Policy.

Can I try it first?

Yes. NexusView is free for 7 days with every feature and any number of cameras, and no credit card is needed. On day 7 the trial ends and viewing stops until you enter a license key.

How does the license work?

It is a one-time purchase with no subscription. You receive a license key by email that keeps NexusView running after the trial, with unlimited cameras, and can be activated on up to 3 of your computers. If you replace a computer, use Deactivate this computer in Settings to free up the key, or contact support and we'll help.

Does it work on a TV?

Yes. Connect a computer or Mac mini to the TV by HDMI, use full-screen mode, and let it run. NexusView can keep the display awake and start automatically when the computer starts.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund (see the Refund Policy). When a refund is issued, the license key for that purchase is deactivated.
